The application for Erasmus Mundus Fellowships has to been done in the same time as the general online application (see: Online Application Process).
The same Form should be used both for the application in the EDEEM Joint Doctorate AND for the application to Erasmus Mundus Fellowships (regular ones and the special Windows).
Students may apply to several research projects (up to 3).
Candidates who want to apply for an Erasmus Mundus Followship have to submit their research project(s) before December 14, 2012 - Extended to January 14, 2013.
If you are late, contact the EDEEM office
The acceptance in the program is decided by the procedure described below.
Note that the acceptance in the program is a first necessary condition to be considered for a fellowship (see at the end). A student can be enrolled in the program if she/he is accepted even if she/he does not get a fellowship.
The acceptance procedure is organized in five steps:
a. Definition of the research project
b. Submission of the research project
c. Acceptance on the main list of a research project
d. Final acceptance on a research project
e. Confirmation of the acceptance in the EDEEM program
f. Selection for the erasmus mundus fellowship
a. Definition of the research project ( see Online Application Process Section 3)
b. Submission of the research project ( see Online Application Process Section 3) before December 9th, 2011
c. Acceptance on the main list of a research project.
Before the 9 of January, students will be contacted by the EDEEM Office that will send one of these possible answers:
a) Acceptance of the student on the project (see point 4)
b) Acceptance on the main list of the Project
c) Rejection of the student on the project
The acceptance (a or b) is decided by the potential advisors. They may contact the applicants (by e-mail, Skype or any other means) to get additional information. At this stage, several students may be accepted on the same research project.
d. Final acceptance on a research project.
Acceptance of one (and only one) student per Research Project is decided by the two advisors before the end of January. The signature by the two advisors of the form is formally organized by the EDEEM Office. Applicants are informed by the EDEEM office.
e. Confirmation of the acceptance in the EDEEM program.
After being accepted in Step 4, students have fulfilled the main requirements to be accepted in the EDEEM Program and this acceptance need only to be confirmed by the EDEEM Board of Admission in February.
f. Selection for the erasmus mundus fellowship.
For students accepted in the EDEEM Program (hence having satisfied Steps 1-5), the EDEEM Board of Admission will then consider them for the various fellowships offered by the EDEEM program, including the Erasmus Mundus Fellowships. Students applying for an erasmus mundus fellowship will be notified of the decision taken after the meeting; however, before being definitive, this decision has still to get the approval of the European Union (for the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship), which is usually the case but is not automatic. After receiving a positive answer from the EDEEM Office it is advised that students start the preparation of their arrival (passport, visa...) as in the section "Enrollment in the Program".
